Kelowna Real Estate Stats – July 2016

CENTRAL OKANAGAN JULY 2016

The red-hot market continues!  Year to date there have been 4,634 unit sales (3,498 last July).  Single family detached home sales number 2,120 (+25% over last July), strata apartment sales total 969 this year to date (+45%), and townhouse sales came in at 969 – up 26% compared to last July.

There are only 777 single family detached homes on the market now – a 33% decrease from last year.  Homes in certain price ranges can be hard to find.  The average single detached home is now $589,000 – up 16% from last year.  

We expect more buyers moving here from Vancouver, partly because of the new 15% property transfer tax for non-residents in that city.  All this means that it’s a great time to list your home for sale!
